INTEREST IN MUNICIPAL POLITICS

For the past 20 years, Caroline Decaluwe has proudly called the Town of Mount Royal home. Over the last four years, she has served as City Councillor for District 6, actively representing residents on the Municipal Council. Passionate about municipal affairs, Caroline has played a key role in advancing numerous initiatives. Elected in 2021 with United for TMR - Team Michelle Setlakwe, Caroline now continues her work independently, free from political ties to a leader, guided by core values: rigor, transparency, integrity.

Caroline’s professional background bridges both architecture and management. She has worked with architecture firms in Montreal and Toronto on a wide range of architectural and urban development projects. Before her career in architecture, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and gained experience in finance and process improvement. Combining her expertise with her passion for urban planning and green spaces, Caroline is dedicated to preserving the City’s architectural heritage while guiding Mount Royal’s growth in a modern and sustainable way.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

  • Architect since 2010, Caroline has worked in various architectural firms in Montreal and Toronto (Aedifica, Sid Lee Architecture, LGA Architectural Partners, ACDF et NOMADE)

  • Has experience on a large spectrum of projects (urban planning, feasibility studies, programming & regulations analysis, design, construction, business development, etc.)

  • Graduate in finance and economics from HEC Montreal, Caroline worked in various divisions of General Electric in financial planning & analysis, real estate and process improvements (black belt).

VOLUNTEER WORK / ASSOCIATIONS

  • Governing board, secretary - Ecole Saint-Clément Ouest (2 years)

  • Board of Directors, president -  CPE Le coin des enfants du Parc (4 years)

  • Involved it many volunteer initiatives at TMR public school and involvement in fundraising campaign at Fondation Saint-Clément
