CAROLINE DECALUWE

District 6

Having made TMR her home for the past 20 years, Caroline now lives with her family on Kenaston Avenue, in district 6.  With backgrounds in both architecture and management, Caroline has worked in Montreal and Toronto on several large architectural and urban projects. Prior to being an architect, she completed a bachelor in commerce and worked for a large multinational. Caroline is passionate about architecture, urban planning and green spaces. She is keen to preserve the architectural heritage of the Town, while ensuring that TMR can continue to flourish in modern times. Mother of two young children, Caroline has been actively involved in their schools.

INTEREST IN MUNICIPAL POLITICS

Caroline is passionate about architecture, urban planning and green spaces. She is keen to defend and preserve the architectural heritage of the Town, while ensuring TMR can continue to flourish with modern times.  With her skills, Caroline wishes to help the TMR community reflect and find adequate solutions related to residential renovations (CCU, permit applications) and to the various projects currently outstanding in the town (downtown public square, redevelopment of specific sites like St-Peter’s and Beth El, the sport and community center, etc.). Conscious of the quality of life offered by TMR, Caroline wishes to apply her skills and expertise to preserve the Town’s attributes and continue to improve the quality of its installations and services, as well as the vitality of the town's center. Having developed an interest in visual and performing arts since a young age, she is also interested in all aspects relating to arts, culture and recreational activities within our urban context.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

  • Architect since 2010, Caroline has worked in various architectural firms in Montreal and Toronto (Aedifica, Sid Lee Architecture, LGA Architectural Partners, ACDF et NOMADE)

  • Has experience on a large spectrum of projects (urban planning, feasibility studies, programming & regulations analysis, design, construction, business development, etc.)

  • Graduate in finance and economics from HEC Montreal, Caroline worked in various divisions of General Electric in financial planning & analysis, real estate and process improvements (black belt).

VOLUNTEER WORK / ASSOCIATIONS

  • Governing board, secretary - Ecole Saint-Clément Ouest (2 years)

  • Board of Directors, president -  CPE Le coin des enfants du Parc (4 years)

  • Involved it many volunteer initiatives at TMR public school and involvement in fundraising campaign at Fondation Saint-Clément
